Choose to do what is important now.
Run a collection analysis at the beginning and end of the year. It will guide your purchases, show whether your collection reflects your audience, and show you where to improve your collection.
Apply for grants to help you improve your collection.
Don’t sweat the little things. You’ll always have books to shelve. Your students won’t mind picking books from the carts sometimes.
Librarians are crucial links to help students succeed.
Advocacy is important. Be the voice for the students you are serving. Think about what you want your students and community members to remember after they visit your library.
