Here are some Librarian Influencer strategies Monica shared for early-career librarians:
Find someone on campus to connect with.
Don’t be afraid to be different.
Be confident in yourself and your teaching.
Moving from one grade level to the next from hour to hour is an adjustment.
She wants to have a technology class for parents, teachers, and administrators! She would teach them things using Google Meet, answer their questions, and even start a blog answering common questions.
Technology is a large part of what she does as a librarian. She teaches students about their email accounts and loves using Google forms.
In her district all of the librarians are technology leaders. They are a good support system for each other.
Reach out to learning networks for help.She connects with Google learning groups and contacts on Twitter.
This is what Monica is doing this summer:
She is studying to get Google certified this summer and was so thankful she was already familiar enough to help her teachers get started in Google classroom during COVID 19.
